Both the chickpea from Mexico and the United States, from the California area, share some features: both are characterised by a medium or large, rounded and wrinkled grain. The quality is very variable depending on the area and type of grain planted.
In relation to the one of Spanish origin, it resembles the Castilian chickpea.
