Chickpeas

Originally from the Eastern Mediterranean, Syria Greece or Turkey were responsible for introducing over the course of time this grain along the Mediterranean, then expanding through Persia to Central Asia and the Indian subcontinent. With the arrival of the Spanish to America was introduced in all areas of drier climate like California or Mexico where, today, the European market is largely nourished.
